Soggetto Nomade is an Intercultural Non - Profit Association founded by author Valentina Acava Mmaka as a "space" where to promote human rights, intercultural dialogue, cross cultural confrontation.

Born in Rome and raised in South Africa during the apartheid regime, Valentina Acava Mmaka spent most of her life between South Africa and East Africa. She is the author of seven books published in Italy.Il mondo a colori della famiglia BwanaVal (Kabiliana 2002), Amani. I Nomi della Pace (EMI 2004), Jabauni il mistero della città sommersa (EMI 2003); poetry L'Ottava Nota (Prospettiva 2002); theatre Io...donna...immigrata ... volere dire scrivere EMI 2004, translated in French and English and staged in different countries in Europe and Africa; novels Cercando Lindiwe (Epoché 2007), Il Viaggio Capovolto (Epoché 2010). She has published short stories and poems in different magazines. Her last play is The Cut- Lo Strappo. Voices of the night  which was written out of the Gugu Women Lab, a writing group formed by Valentina Acava Mmaka and a collective of south african and immigrant women who worked together on a writing project aimed to promote human rights. The play focuses on Female Genital Mutilation and it has recently toured over 2013 in Italy to raise awareness on this very important and urgent issue.
Her literary production is extensive, from childrens' books:  
Her work has been extensively praised for promoting diversity as a value and intercultural dialogue, as well as contributing in defending the rights of the migrants and refugees.
She coordinate educational workshops for children and adults. She teaches Writing in terms of finding one's own identity through imagination and words: (Writing Across Borders).

Several Degree Thesis has been dedicated in Italy to her work and life.
Her novel Cercando Lindiwe is part of a University Paper called "The issue of identity in Valentina Acava Mmaka's novel Cercando Lindiwe and Primo Levi's novel If this is a man" by Prof. Antonella Piazza - UNISA - Pretoria - South Africa.
